Remote Area Power Supply

Due to the high cost of installing transmission and distribution lines, especially when electrical power demand is low, a self-sustaining off-grid network offers a more economical solution for remote areas. These networks can have their own generators, storage units, sensors and control protocols for matching loads with supply. The proximity of generation to the load in such a network reduces the amount of energy lost in transmission. This also reduces the size and number of power lines that must be constructed. Due to the use of solar power and low level losses, such remote area power supplies offer a low-carbon alternative to conventional electric power generation and usage.
